Getting sick is one of the most inconvenient things for us to deal with in our everyday lives. Here are 5 tips on how to avoid or completely prevent getting sick.
1. Wash and Sanitize your hands
Washing your hands can be one of the best ways to stop the spreading of germs. Sometimes access to clean water and soap is not available, this is the perfect opportunity to use sanitizer(gel or wipes with at least 60% alcohol content) as an alternative. As viruses can live for over 24 hours it's always a good idea to clean and disinfect any shared items or surfaces.
2. Avoid Touching your Face
The face is the number one area for infection and avoiding touching your face is a great start to reducing your risk. For those who need an extra barrier of protection consider wearing a face mask and/or protective glasses
3. Avoid Areas where people with sickness congregate
Public bathrooms can be a hotspot of germs an alternative could be using bathrooms at home, wearing an adult incontinence brief or pads. If you do need to go out please follow tip #1 and #2.
4. Get proper sleep
Sleep is the natural way our body regenerates itself and we require at least 7 hours every night. If we are not getting enough sleep every night our immune system is not prepared to fight off potential illnesses.
5. Eat Healthy
Eating healthy foods is the best way to absorb the nutrients we need to build a strong immune system.
