How to pick a diaper? Benefits of switching it!

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening or good night, depending on when you’re reading this entry.
Today I would like to talk about the benefits of using a variety of products for different times of the day. To me, this is an important topic as this helps me choose what product to use in each situation whether it’s staying home all day, going to the zoo or just a long drive. I will use different products for each situation.
My go to diaper for an ab girl is Princess Pink and for an ab boy it's Rebels. This is just my personal preference for in general wear, I always have a Princess Pink in the diaper bag.
Daytime:
Lazy Day at Home:
If I’m with an ab and we’re just staying home and watching Disney+ then I like to do different things.
• First, disposable, in this situation I like using Lil’ Monsters, with a capacity of 3700ml or Lil Squirts Splash with a capacity of 3900ml. These are 2 great diapers to use any time you can easily change or be changed. As a Daddy, I love using these as my go to day time diapers.
• Second thing I like to use when at home is to use cloth diapers. In this case I like the Adult Pocket Diapers with 3-4 boosters. I’ll use either the Bamboo boosters or the Incontrol boosters.
You can use disposable boosters like the Incontrol boosters inside any cloth diaper, just remember to remove it before you wash the cloth diaper.
For me any disposable diaper with a capacity under 5000ml is what I would use in the day time, whenever I am easily able to change the person I’m with.
Daytime Outings:
If I’m with an ab and we’re going out, let’s say to the mall, then once again I would use Lil’ Monsters or Lil Squirts Splash. Depending on how long we will be out for, I may add an Incontrol booster as well. In this situation I chose these because they are thinner and easier to hide in public under clothing. Adding a onesie also helps quiet the crinkle and keep your diaper from sagging.
Nighttime:
• For night time use I like a few different things. Again, my go to diaper is Princess Pink and Rebels. Both of these diapers have a capacity of 5000ml so I would often use these diapers with an Incontrol booster for night time use.
• When at home, I also like to use the Omutsu Bulky Cloth Diaper with an extra small Adult prefold Diaper wrapped around a Bamboo or microfibre booster with a Silence Pant Waterproof Diaper Cover.
For me any diaper with a capacity over 5000ml is what I would use for night time. It's always better to have the higher capacity diapers (5000ml+) for nighttime as it’ll last the 6-8 hours a night the average person sleeps. In some cases, I’ll even add an Incontrol Booster to the night diaper and in some cases I have been known to go all out and use a diaper like Dinosaur with an InControl Booster and then put the Omutsu Bulky Cloth Diaper on top with the Silence Pant Waterproof Diaper Cover.
Princess Pink, Safari, Rebel, Barnyard, Dinosaur, Hybrid Elite, Seduction and Inspire are all great night time diapers and you can add an Incontrol booster to make them last longer.
Swimming:
It’s the summer, it's hot out, you want to go for a swim, whether you’re swimming at the lake, a private pool, or maybe you're having an ageplay pool party complete with an inflatable pool, I suggest the Adult Swim Diaper. Lil’ Bella and Splash are my favorite and if you go over to RearzGear you can get a matching swimsuit! I’m hoping to talk more about swimming options in an upcoming blog post.
Long Trips/Outings:
Now if your going out and you’ll be out a long time, maybe your driving to Montreal, maybe your going to the drive-in theatre and they’re having a dusk till dawn night, in these situations changing a diaper, whether it’s yours or your partners will be a little bit harder to do, so I personally love the Dinosaurs, Barnyard and the Incontrol Elite. These diapers have a capacity of 5435ml and will easily last 5+ hours.
You can use disposable boosters like the Incontrol boosters inside any cloth diaper. Remember to remove the disposable booster before you wash the cloth diaper. You can also use cloth boosters inside a disposable diaper as long as you remember to remove the cloth booster before tossing the disposable diaper.
Aside from optimizing products by using them at different times of the day, using a variety of products allows you to experience different fits. This helps prevent rubbing in one specific area and thus helps eliminate chafing. Also switching between cloth and disposable can be gentler on your skin and can also be a more financially balanced option.
With all of these options it is easy to be prepared for any situation. Experiment with fit and bulkiness and find what works for you. And as always be excellent to yourself and to each other.
